MEET OUR PASTOR
Troy and Melody Miller
Troy is the Lead Pastor of The Point Church. He is passionate about helping people know and love Jesus, and loves all things Black and Gold. He has an M.Div from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and a B.A. in Christian Ministry from Geneva College. Before planting The Point Church, Troy was a worship director for six years and then completed a church planting residency program at Crossroads Church in Pittsburgh, PA.
Melody works 168 hours a week as a stay-at-home mom but previously served as a Youth Pastor for 10 years. Her degree is in Youth Ministry from Eastern University near Philly. Melody grew up in the North Hills of Pittsburgh and she loves helping people grow deeply as followers of Christ and she has a gift for making people feel loved!
Troy and Melody met when they were both on staff at a church in the Pittsburgh region for Worship and Youth ministry. Now, they live in Whitehall, PA with their three sons, Judah, Elias, and Micah.
The dream of planting a church began in 2008 when Troy attended a leadership conference in Atlanta, GA. At that conference, Troy was overwhelmed by a burden to be part of a new ministry in a metropolitan area. Through much prayer and counsel, Troy realized that God was calling him to start a new church in the Pittsburgh region. He carried that calling with him through college and during his time as a Worship Pastor, and he and Melody spent hours talking and dreaming about it from the very beginning of their relationship.
In time as Troy and Melody served in full-time ministry together, this calling became more of a “someday when” dream. But as Troy approached the last few years of seminary, it became clear that the Lord was drawing Melody and him back to that calling of church planting from years before. So, they took the step of faith to reach out to Pastor Steve Cordle of Crossroads Church about their church planting residency. After a year and a half in that program, the Millers were commissioned to plant The Point Church in the Century 3 region of Pittsburgh. Their passion has always been to help people grow in the love and grace of Jesus Christ and now they can’t wait to see what God has in store for them and this church family.

OUR BOARD
The Point Church is an independent, non-denominational church with an outside board of directors which serves to give guidance, accountability, and spiritual support to the ministry of The Point Church. Members of the board are pastors and professionals with years of ministry and business experience who are invested in the faithfulness and health of the church. As we grow and stabilize over the next few years, we will all seek, train, and install an internal board of biblically grounded and humble elders who will serve to shepherd and lead the church into the future. Pray for us as we seek to live out our value of “transparent community” as a church family and organization.
