ALIVE GROUPS: FOLLOWING JESUS TOGETHER
From the first days of Christianity, people have gathered together in groups to worship together, help one another grow as followers of Jesus, and to form life-giving friendships. We call our groups (A)Live Groups because we believe they are where we best live out our vision to see people come alive in Christ as they are known, loved, and empowered. Here’s what you can expect from one of one of these groups of roughly 5-15 people:
Worship: Groups that worship together thrive together. By spending time worshiping through singing and watching the weekly teaching, groups invite God’s presence in and put Him at the center of the meeting.
Prayer and Discussion: An important part of loving and becoming more like Jesus is applying what we are learning from Him to our every day lives. Our groups spend about 45 minutes discussing the week’s sermon and Scriptures. We then spend time praying for God to empower us to actually follow through!
Kids’ matter to us here at The Point. We believe Jesus loves children and teens and has an amazing plan for their lives. Certain Alive Groups will provide childcare for kids with an environment of love and fun.
Serving and outreach: Our Groups find opportunities throughout the year to meet needs and show people God’s love. We will look to combine groups throughout the year for special serving events.
A caring family: Our groups and their leaders care for one another. Hospital visits, babysitting, food delivery: It’s how we display the good news of Jesus to one another and our communities.
